Ia'orana, Welcome!
Founded in 2015, Transitions Without Borders is a 509 (a)(2) not-for-profit public charity,
operating in the beautiful and preserved Pacific islands of the Polynesian triangle.
In 2018, our organization was recognized by the French government and awarded the national prize ‘’Projet d’Innovation des Assises des Outremer’’ (Project of innovation of the French Overseas Countries)
Because the biggest obstacle to education in Polynesia is remoteness, our mission is:
1. to serve local, high-achieving, low income students in French Polynesia by bringing the world to them
2. to serve non-Polynesian students by sharing the mana through off-the-beaten-path experiential programs
How do we accomplish our mission?
By putting 1. and 2. together
We expand the world to Polynesian teens who thirst to share their land and heritage with other curious learners from all continents. Together, they:
DISCOVER new cultures, skills, languages...
SHARE knowledge, experiences, stories...
SERVE the young and not so young, and those in need...
REFLECT on why, what, how they can make a positive impact in French Polynesia and the world...
SOLVE local problems related to the educational, social, economical and geographic environments...
CREATE innovative ways to improve life on the islands...
Our Tahiti chapter runs boarding facilities where we host our programs.
Our staff of passionate and experienced volunteer educators and professionals are dedicated to supporting students in their growth through meaningful learning.
Our targeted partnerships with international schools and organizations, local schools, Polynesian experts and authorities provide tailored learning experiences to both our local and international students.
By working alongside and bringing their talents and knowledge together, students from Polynesia and the world transform our islands into better places, and are transformed.
We run programs on several islands, including Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, and more, depending on the goals of our partner schools and organizations.
Transitions Without Borders is a 509 (a)(2) not-for-profit public charity (EIN #47-5486584).
All proceeds are used to fund our mission in the islands where the programs are run.
